The Solutions for all English Home Language course for Grade 8 has been developed to support the content (knowledge, concepts and skills) contained in the National Curriculum Statement (NCS), as organised in the new Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for Home Language. The Solutions for all English Home Language Grade 8 course consists of the following components: • Learner’s Book • Core Reader • Teacher’s Guide. These components are designed to work together to enrich the teaching and learning experience in the English Home Language classroom. Included in the Solutions for all English Home Language Grade 8 Teacher’s Guide are the following: • the curriculum for English Home Language as set out in the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) for Home Language • practical assistance with the principles of best practice for classroom management • suggested methodology for using the Solutions for all English Home Language course in the classroom • step-by-step guidance on how to carry out activities • Extra practice activities that cater for both remediation and enrichment • a Summary of a cycle of work. A cycle consists of two weeks’ work.
